Have a lawn-care related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • If it rained right after my application, will the treatment still be effective?

As an experienced lawn care company, we ensure that most of the products we apply actually benefit from the rain. Slow-release granular fertilizer and insecticides for subsurface insects (i.e. grubs) actually need to be watered in to be effective. However, our broadleaf weed control is a spray and needs 30 minutes before becoming rainfast. Rain could negatively impact its effectiveness if washed away before it has time to dry. If it does rain directly after receiving broadleaf weed control and you don’t see the weeds curling up within 14 days, please call our office for a free service call to re-spray the weeds.

  • How long will it take for weeds to disappear after EGI treats my lawn?

Usually, weeds curl up and die seven to 14 days after we treat them. In our experience, for even the finest lawn care company, some weeds take longer to vanish than others. Some weeds take multiple applications of weed killer and several months to go away. Temperatures also make a difference. The warmer the temperature, the faster the weeds will disappear.

  • Do I need to do anything to prepare before my lawn gets treated?

Please make sure all gates are unlocked and all areas of the property are accessible for our lawn care company. Also, make sure pets are inside your home on service days. Finally, make sure your lawn is clear of obstacles and debris.

  • How soon can kids and pets use the lawn after treatment?

After a lawn care company treats your lawn, you can use your lawn once the treatment has had time to dry. Usually, this can take anywhere between two and four hours. However, we recommend limiting activity on the lawn for 24 hours.

  • How soon can I mow my lawn after an application?

You should wait between 24 and 48 hours after a lawn care company treats your grass before mowing. It takes at least 24 hours for broadleaf weed control to be absorbed into the plant. Mowing too soon prevents the herbicide from getting into the plant.

  • How often will EGI treat my lawn?

Here at Emerald Green, Inc, our Basic Lawn Care Program consists of six applications. Each application is between six to eight weeks apart. Contact our lawn care company for further details!

  • What if weeds appear between my lawn care services?

We offer free service calls for all customers who are enrolled in our full lawn care program. However, as an experienced lawn care company, we recommend waiting 10 and 14 days to re-spray weeds to prevent damage to the lawn.

  • When can I expect to see results?

Wanting quick results is expected, especially for lawns that need the extra TLC. You're not alone in wanting a pristine lawn. In fact, 69% of Americans admit their lawn could use improvement, according to the National Association of Landscape Professionals. However, there's no one perfect solution for each unique lawn.

For lawns that are in really bad shape, it can be an 18-month process to get it turned around. It is important to understand that there is no “quick fix” and that many factors affect the time to see results. However, you should see improvement in your lawn in a relatively short amount of time. Most weeds can be controlled in seven and 14 days. Fertilizers, while dependent on moisture, temperature, and type of fertilizer being used, should show results within a couple of weeks. When our lawn care company builds your package, we'll inspect your lawn and estimate how long the process should take.
